According to Kryptonsite (via Comics2film), Michael Gambon, who plays Professor Dumbledore in the Harry Potter films, has apparently signed on to play Superman's father, Jor-El, in the new Superman movie that is currently being filmed.

The article states: One, came across a listing at a Warner Bros.-owned website that indicates the previously-listed Michael Gambon as playing the role of Jor-El. The listing could possibly be wrong, though.

As no link is provided to the source of this information, treat it as rumour for now.
