Michael Gambon Speaks of Dumbledore Role
|
Michael Gambon, who portrays Professor Dumbledore in the Harry Potter films, was recently interviewed by BBC's Top Gear. During the interview, he did have a bit to say about the Harry Potter films. He said the following in a rather dry-humour way:
Presenter - "But of course since then, now Harry Potter has come along." Michael Gambon - "Yeah, I'm Dumbledore. Richard Harris did two films, and he died. I am now on my third." Presenter - "Do you understand the first thing that's been said in Harry Potter?" Michael Gambon - "Well, I read the script and learn the lines and I try to understand. I have to understand it, don't I, sort of... Quite often I don't know what's going on."
TLC has an video of the interview here.

| I must admit I perfered Richard Harris over Michael Gambon. I do like Michael. I just don't think he makes the right Dumbledore. |

| i didn't understand his humour, and i didn't like some of the commentes made here, to. if you don't have anything important to say, don't waste your time. |

| Oh and just so you know. The comment about him not knowing what he does is him referring to some of his other movies and not HP. |

| Gambons great what are you talking about! Much better than that old fart Richard Harris! |

This is the reason that I stated that it was said with humour. No, not a lot of news lately, but to be expected when between books/film. But, be careful what you wish for... next thing you know, there'll be so much, that I'll be bombarded and won't be able to keep up. :wassat:   |

| When is there going to be some actual news? Probably on the 26th when JK does her first Harry Potter interview since Prince came out. That should be good. Maybe it's just me, but I'm tired of all this stupid news. I mean, come on, people are arguing now about a two line interview by Michael Gambon. How pathetic. Go reread the books or something.... that'll give you guys something to debate about. |

Come on VJ...that wasn't rude. And Gambon is very tongue in cheek in all his interviews. He rarely ever means what he says. And watch the whole interview and you will understand. The snippet is taken way out of context. Watch the whole thing and then comment. |

| "Yeah, I'm Dumbledore. Richard Harris did two films, and he died. I am now on my third."....how rude is that..I mean he just said it liike that-he died. |
