Barron: Extra Burrow Scene Added to Half-Blood Prince
|
Harry Potter producer, David Barron, recently spoke with Australia's Herald Sun about Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. During the interview, he stated that they're going to film a new scene at the Burrow that wasn't originally in the book.
"But this was brought in because Jo (Rowling) was able throughout the quite lengthy book to keep dropping little snippets of what was happening in the outside world - there'd be people reading newspapers and talking about how somebody's parents had been killed, or somebody had been withdrawn from school because their parents didn't think it was safe.
And we're making aware that that the Muggle world is also experiencing these disasters, but thinks they are disasters rather than the work of Voldemort.
The book is peppered with those moments, but we couldn't do that quite so easily in the film.
So (the extra scene) comes in the middle of the film and it just reminds us the world is no longer a safe place. Even in what would normally be considered the safe haven of the Burrows, nobody's safe.
I think you'll like it. It's quite effective.

| PotterFan!!: it was apparently leaked on imdb. someone had posted it in the comments section of this story on the leaky cauldron, but i don't know if it's still there. |

Where did you read the scene?!?!?!?!?! I want to see it!!!! |

| i've read what happens in the scene, and i think it's way too plot changing to put in the movie. if it was more mild then it would be a good idea, but what happens is too intense. |

that's a good idea.he's right, they can't keep on interrupting the movie with snippets,so this is a good way to remind people of the tension in the atmosphere. I don't understand why they have removed Fleur from the movie though.after all,the 7th movie practically begins with the wedding. |
