Sean Biggerstaff
#41 “I initially suspected that I was the reincarnation of Julius Caesar. I soon realized that this couldn't be so as the idea of conquering Europe, or even living there, didn't appeal to me in the slightest. With the exception of a passing infatuation with the music of Michael Jackson, the seven years immediately following my birth were fairly uneventful. Then I decided I wanted to act. So I did.
I joined the local drama group which I attended for about five years. I got my first professional role as the son of MacDuff in Macbeth, when I was 10. I then joined Scottish Youth Theatre and spent six years performing with them. I'm not ashamed. The shows were of a commendable standard and there really was very little nudity. It was at SYT that I was chosen for The Winter Guest. Alan Rickman popped along one day looking for two boys to accompany him to the coldest place on earth, Fife, for two months to make a film. Myself and the suspicious character that is Douglas Murphy were the lucky ones. In 1999 I asked Alan if he knew anyone in London who may be interested in representing me and he put me in touch with Paul Lyon-Maris, his own agent at ICM. We met at his flat in Edinburgh and I apparently met his standards. About a week later I successfully auditioned for Harry Potter. And the rest is history. “
Indeed, after Harry Potter, Biggerstaff was a revelation in Sean Ellis’ Cashback. He was so natural and so amusing in his role, no wonder he’s one of the UK’s most promising emerging talents.
Robert Pattinson
#19 He may have met his 'death' in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, but in 'Twilight' he is immortal. One of the biggest news in December of last year was British actor Robert Pattinson being cast as the lead in the much-awaited film Twilight. Twilight is a young adult / horror / fantasy / romance novel written by author Stephenie Meyer, originally published in hardcover in 2005. The story is about seventeen-year-old Isabella Swan, a girl who moves to Forks, Washington and finds her life in danger when she falls in love with vampire Edward Cullen. We reported earlier that the character of Isabella Swan will be portrayed by Kristen Stewart.
Pattinson already has a huge following after the Harry Potter film, but he is more than just a pretty face. Beating out a number of hot and rising teen actors for the Twilight role, he definitely aspires to be a great actor someday.
Latest Movies: Twilight is not the only feature for the actor; he is also slated to play artist Salvador Dali in Little Ashes. Two other movies in the works for Pattinson include How to Be and The Summer House.
Dan Radcliffe
#16 Earning a whopping $14 million in the latest Harry Potter series is an incredible achievement for someone as young as Daniel Radcliffe.
"Ultimately it comes down to whether we're still enjoying it. If we are then I think we would be sort of stupid not to do them. As long as I'm doing other stuff around the same time, I think it'll be fine. Also, I sort of try to read the books when they come out impartially and not make up my mind, but the fact is when I was reading the sixth, Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince, there were bits in there where I was going, 'God, I would love to do that because it's so good.'" says Daniel about playing the role.
Coming up: Perhaps the most popular among the top 50 young actors in the list, Radcliffe's acting resume is not limited to the Potter movies anymore- with a controversial stint in theatre for Equus and an upcoming drama feature, The Journey Is the Destination, where he will play the lead role, Radcliffe is as shrewd as he is charming.
