UK's Telegraphreported that 18 year old Robert Knox who had the role as “Marcus Belby” in Half-Blood Prince was killed in an attempt to protect his 16 year old brother from two men who entered a bar in London. One of the men was armed with two knives. A fight had started, spilling outside next to Sidcup train station. According to the article, Scotland Yard confirmed a young man died from knife wounds and a 21 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is being held in custody.
Friends and family have been leaving flowers and tributes in Station Road, Sidcup. Our sympathies go out to the Knox family and their friends.
UPDATE: Laetitia in France has sent us a request to help gather messages of sympathy from the Harry Potter community in order to send a little HP magic for the Knox family in their time of grief. If you would like to help Laetitia, please leave a comment or email her at famillerobertknox at voila.fr. Click here to view her HP website which she warns is under construction.
UPDATE 2 (Video): Thanks to Telegraph and ITN, click here to watch Colin Knox say a few words about his son, Robert. Additionally, The Telegraph reports that Robert's father visited the scene. The article also includes a photo of Robert with his brother and mother. You can see the photo of Robert in our gallery here.
Thanks again Jon. I know this must be hard for you, along with his family. It's always a tragedy to loose someone. Him being so talented and loved by so many makes it even more tragic. The only thing that can make this easier is time. It would be nice if more stringent laws are put in place because of this tragedy as well. Knives are just as deadly as guns and those who abuse them should be punished severely.

I have let the brother know of all the support that this site and many others are giving. Im sure that its helping them out. Im waiting to find out about the prison sentence for one Karl Bishop. For too long i have worried that something like this would happen in my area, i just didnt realise it would be to someone so great.
I went down to the Metro bar in which it occured and saw that so many people have been. There are many friends standing around with T-Shirts saying "Rob Knox, 24.05.08, 0100". He had a huge circle of friends and was loved by many. I just think that the amount of people that have sent their sympathies is amazing and i as much as his family appreciate it.
P.S. He does seem to look slightly different in each photo and the only reason its so easy for me to tell them apart is because i know them. Thanks for the support,
Jon Cheesey

While I can't say I personally knew him, or can truly relate to this, my condolences go out to the friends and family.
A dedication will surely have to go in the movie.
"Dedicated to a hero, a loving person who cared for those around him."
Something of the like.

Thanks, Jon. I've updated the photo in the gallery. I guess I had the wrong brother. It was hard to tell, as at certain angles they really look a lot alike. It's such a very sad story. His family is definitely in our thoughts and prayers.
Not sure if im allowed to post this but hes on the right.

Jon maybe you could let Robs family know of all the support they are getting from all of the HP sites, it might help them to know of the love they are being sent & that Rob will never be forgotten. And may I say good luck to you in fulfilling your own dream.

I went to school with him. I was in his brothers year and he was always a great guy. I found out in the morning when my brother, the best friend of Robs cousin, rang me to let me know. I have been grieving all day as have the rest of the people that knew him. Its strange how the best of people in this world seem to have the most terrible things done to them. Top Notch guy and i hope they mention him in the Harry Potter Film. I have always wanted to be an Actor and he is a great rolemodel. Im now searchingly avidly for a career in acting, thanks to the inspiration he has given me.
