Snitchseeker confirmed with Hamilton Hodell, the agency who represents Emma Thompson (Professor Trelawney), that the Divination professor is not in the Half-Blood Prince film.
In the book, Prof. Trelawney was the one who indirectly gave Harry the information that Draco was "celebrating" in the Room of Requirement and that Snape was the one who had overheard her tell Dumbledore about the Prophecy.
That really sucks. Monaing Myrtle out..and now the Divination teacher is out! I dont think these side characters really shoot the budget of the movie!!

I wonder how the heck they plan on getting out of this one? Are they going to have Dobby tell Harry about Draco or maybe they'll have Neville do it. :~/ {{{shaking head}}}

WB is killing this!!! i know that trelawney didn't have a huge part, but she should still be somewhat in it since she's one of the major-minor characters!!!

Warner Brothers are stooping lower by the minute. Order of the Phoenix was an absolute shambles - the worst of the films so far and Half blood prince soudns liek its gona be even worse. I think JK should never have signed the film rights over in the first place - at least waited until the books had been released and to a British company as well after all it is primarily a British book. I can't see why they cut out Characters just to save on costs - Its not like they don't get millions from it anyway.
