Future Theater Projects For Fiennes and Griffiths
|
We have previously reported that Richard Griffiths (Uncle Vernon Dursley) will appear in the Broadway production of Equus with Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter). We have also reported that Ralph Fiennes (Lord Voldemort) is performing in Gate/Beckett for New York’s Lincoln Center Festival which started two days ago on July 16.
Now according to an article posted on MailOnline, Griffiths and Fiennes have committed to future theatrical projects after the run of their current productions.

As we have already reported, Mr. Fiennes plans to do Oedipus at the National Theatre after his engagement with Gate/Beckett. The article on MailOnline states that he has agreed to perform in a new production of Uncle Vanya by Anton Chekhov in 2010 once he completes his theatrical commitment with Oedipus, directing himself and Vanessa Redgrave in a film of Coriolanus, and his possible, but unconfirmed, appearance as “Lord Voldemort” in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
As for Mr. Griffiths, the article states that he has agreed to star in The Magistrate by A.W. Pinero, presented by the same production team for Uncle Vanya. He will be directed by his Equus director, Thea Sharrock.
Currently, there is no confirmation as to where the two plays will be performed, but the Gielguld Theatre in London is a good possibility.
Ralph Fiennes is currently performing in Gate/Beckett at Gerald W. Lynch Theater on the campus of John Jay College for the Lincoln Center Festival. The dates are July 16 – 27, 2008. Tickets are sold out for this weekend, but they are available here for purchase for next weekend's performances.
The performance dates for Equus with Richard Griffiths and Daniel Radcliffe are September 25, 2008 – February 5, 2009 at the Broadhurst Theater. Click here for available tickets.
