Previously, we reported that Kate Mulgrew will join Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) and Richard Griffiths (Vernon Dursley) in the Broadway revival production of Equus and also reported rehearsals will begin this Friday. Playbill has now reported the official announcement of the complete cast for the Tony award winning play by Sir Peter Shaffer.
UPDATE: According to DanRadcliffe.co.uk, the official site for Equus on Broadway is now online. Click here.
Page, the webmistress for DanRadcliffe.co.uk, is willing to answer any questions you may have about the show, for an associate producer of the play has already been in touch with her. Thanks, Page.
The new cast additions are:
Anna Camp (The Country Girl) Carolyn McCormick (The Dinner Party, Law & Order) Lorenzo Pisoni (Henry IV) T. Ryder Smith (Dead Man's Cell Phone, She Stoops to Comedy) Graeme Malcolm (Translations, Aida) Sandra Shipley (Pygmalion, Retreat from Moscow) Collin Baja Tyrone Jackson, Spencer Liff Adesola Osakalumi Marc Spaulding.
Once again, Thea Sharrock will direct Equus for the Broadway stage as she had done for the London stage. John Napier will design the set and costumes. David Hersey will set the lights; and Gregory Clarke will be in charge of the sound.
The article mentions Radcliffe’s debut as Alan Strang in the West End production of Equus on February 27, 2007, as well as his positive reviews and the gossip about his nude scene. Also, it quotes the press note for the play:
“psychiatrist Martin Dysart investigates the blinding of six horses, a savage act committed by an unassuming 17-year-old stable boy, Alan Strang, whose family life is rife with bigotry and religious fervor. As Dysart exposes the truths behind the boy's demons, he finds himself face-to-face with his own."
Equus was based on a true story told to Sir Peter Shaffer by a friend. The play originally opened on Broadway in October 1974 at the Plymouth Theatre. It was directed by John Dexter and won the 1975 Tony for Best Play. This upcoming production with Daniel Radcliffe will be the show’s first Broadway revival. It is produced by The Shubert Organization, Elizabeth Ireland McCann, Roger Berlind, John Gore, Hirschfeld Productions, Bill Kenwright, Emily Fisher Landau, Arielle Tepper Madover, Chase Mishkin, and Spring Sirkin.
Sir Peter Shaffer also wrote Amadeus, Lettice and Lovage, The Royal Hunt of the Sun, and White Liars & Black Comedy.
Equus will be shown at The Broadhurst Theatre in Manhattan at 235 East 44th Street. Tickets are $61.50 - $116.50. They are available by calling 212-239-6200 or click here.
This is well known that cash makes people autonomous. But what to do if someone has no money? The one way only is to receive the <a href="http://lowest-rate-loans.com">loans< /a> and just financial loan.
