Happy Birthday, Ms. McCrory! All Harry Potter fans are eagerly waiting to see Helen McCrory’s performance as “Narcissa Malfoy” in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. It will be the first time the mother of Draco Malfoy has appeared in the film adaptations of the books by J.K. Rowling.
Helen McCrory was born on August 17, 1968 in London, England. Her father Ian McCrory was a Scottish diplomat and her mother Anne was a physiotherapist. So along with her parents, a brother, and a sister, Ms. McCrory lived in many places such as Paris, Norway, and Nigeria (to name a few).
Ms. McCrory studied acting at the Drama Centre in London. She became a prolific actress by building up an impressive career in stage, cinema, television, and radio. Her current projects were in the films, The Queen, Call Me Elizabeth, Flashbacks of a Fool and Frankenstein, as well as Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Ms. McCrory just completed her theatrical role as “Rebecca West” in Rosmersholm which ended its run in July.
Ms. McCrory married Damian Lewis, who is becoming well-known to American audiences for his role as “Crews” in the NBC television series Life. They have two children, Manon and Gulliver.
