A few bookstores in the UK are already planning midnight release parties for The Tales of Beedle the Bard by J.K. Rowling. Borders Charing Cross Road London has already posted this on their website:
The Tales of Beedle the Bard 12:00 am, Thu 4th Dec 2008 Join us in store on Wednesday 3rd December for events Harry Potter style, taking us right up to the release at 1 minute past midnight on Thursday 4th December. Be the first to own the long anticipated release from J.K. Rowling.
On their website, Waterstone has a list of their stores that are planning to have Day Release parties, starting at 8:00am on December 4. Click here.
There will also be events at the Borders in Watford, Islington, and Kingston as well as in London Colney Borders which has a detail description of activities for the event:

Other locations are Dublin, Ireland; Dundee, Sctland; Glasgow-Fort, Inverness, Scotland which will have a day party only and a weekend event). The Borders in Fort Kinnaird, Scotland will also have a midnight release party plus a weekend event.
At the moment, there is no word about any midnight release parties here in the States, but we will let you know as soon as we know.
Eh... not as sure about this one, though I'm a big Harry Potter fan. I'm in the US, though, so I think I'll rent it from <a href="www.bookswim.com">Boo kSwim</a> and buy it if I like it.
