Report: Emma Thompson Not in Deathly Hallows

MTV are reporting that Emma Thompson, who portrays Professor Trelawney in the Harry Potter films has decided not to be in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Instead she is going to concentrate on a film that she helped write whose working title is called Nanny McPhee and The Big Bang. “No, no, no,” the Oscar winner insisted when we asked whether she’d be returning as Professor Sybil Trelawney in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”. “I’m making my own ‘Nanny McPhee’ next year. They mean much more to me.” The first Nanny McPhee film was released in 2006. Ms. Thompson helped write that film and had the lead role of Nanny McPhee. This second film is set 100 years later and is an entirely new story. Filming begins the beginning of next year and will conflict with the filming of Deathly Hallows. Therefore, she decided to go with the film that she feels closest to and has the most invested in. Read MTV's report here.
