Update: Beedle Unveil, Donations, and Levine Interview
|
One of the original seven hand-written copies of The Tales of Beedle the Bard by J.K. Rowling was unveiled today at the New York City's Humanities and Social Sciences Library. This copy belongs to Scholastic's Arthur Levine, who was the editor for the US editions of the Harry Potter books. It will be on display until January 4th.
As part of the celebration for the release of Beedle the Bard tomorrow, Scholastic is donating at least three copies of the book to each of the 87 public library branches in New York.
UPDATE: A video of JK Rowling and Arthur Levine reading from Beedle the Bard will be online tonight at 12:01AM EST at this link.

During the unveiling, fansite Snitch Seeker had the chance to ask Mr. Levine about the jewels that are on the cover of his book, as each of the seven Jo made had different types of jewels. He told them that the book had tourmaline stones on it - his son's birthstone. He also went on to remark on how Jo could remember anything, saying that if someone told her how they liked their hot dogs that she'd remember it 17 years later.
