While promoting his role as “Fagin” in the upcoming PBS production of Masterpiece’s Oliver Twist, Timothy Spall did a brief interview which was posted by the Orlando Sentinel on their website. The Harry Potter actor mentions the recognition he has received for portraying “Peter Pettigrew”:
"...It's one of the smallest parts I've ever played in my life, and wherever I go in the world, it's one of the ones that gets the biggest recognition. I don't mind. I think Harry Potter is kind of a phenomenon."
Mr. Spall added that “people in Middle America” would ask him “Hey, are you the rat dude?”
Masterpiece’s new version of Oliver Twist is expected to air on PBS on February 15 and 22.
Timothy Spall is a very diversified actor who has portrayed many unusual characters, but he will always be Wormtail to me!!
