Confirmed: Harry Potter and the Half Blood-Prince Rated PG
|
We previously reported that Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was rated PG. Today we received an email from Warner Bros confirming that PG is the correct rating. The rating is for for scary images, some violence, language and mild sensuality
Goblet of Fire and Order of the Phoenix were rated PG-13.

MTV Movie Blog reports:
"Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince” seems to be on a crash course to disappointing the Harry Potter fanbase. First, there were usual rumblings about changes to the story and characters, and then came the awful decision to delay “Half-Blood Prince by more than a year."
A PG rating may mean that some of the darker moments of the books may be emitted in the movies. For example, David Heyman already confirmed to Potter fansite SnitchSeeker that the Battle of Hogwarts had been cut in order to “avoid repetition."
However, Prisoner of Azkaban, which had a very dark tone, was also rated PG.

Perhaps the Sectumsempra is done without so much blood. I think they could pull it off without it being as bad in the book! Man, I wish it was July already!!  |

| yea i know..and the whole draco/snape death of dumbledore thing..i'm sure that'll be pretty dark too so who knows..either way, i'm SO there |

| How can they have Sectumsempra AND the Inferi and still have it rated PG??? Isn't that a little too gory/scary for a PG movie??? |

| yea, i'm feelin the same way about HBP..not really worried about it..and i think they are doin the scene w/the sectumsempra curse..seems like i read that in one of the many interviews flyin' around out there |

| When I first heard it as 'PG', I was worried about the Inferi, but now, I think it won't be all that bad. POA was PG and the dementors were pretty scary in that....to me anyway. I wonder if they put the Sectumsempra in the movie? |
