Tom Felton On People’s Poll For 'Alec' in New Moon

There is an unconfirmed report posted by E Online that Dakota Fanning is in negotiations for the part of “Jane” in New Moon which will star Robert Pattinson (Cedric Diggory). And now, People magazine has posted a poll on their website for fans to choose who should be cast as Jane’s twin brother Alec. The twin vampires are the “bad vamps” written in New Moon by the novel's author Stephenie Meyer. That may be why Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy) was listed on the poll. Click here to vote. Who knows, if Felton gets enough votes, he may be seriously considered. But please keep in mind that no official interest has been expressed or confirmed by any of the actors on the poll or by Summit Entertainment. The other actors considered by People for their poll are Lucas Grabeel from High School Musical for his dark part in the film Milk; and Gaspard Ulliel for his part in Hannibal Rising. And then, there is Freddie Highmore who may surprise everyone with his “bad side”.

I think that Tom would be wonderful as Alec. There's no competition between Twilight and HP. Both series probably share a GREAT DEAL of fans, and they should. Tom would not ruin the movies. Many actors have played many different parts, and the fact that he might be in two movies that appeal to this age group should be completely inconsequential.

Tom is Draco. Not Alec. Say it with me, DRACO. Twilight doesn't deserve Tom. It would ruin the HP series if he was cast.

Argh!!! NOT Tom, they took Robert, but how can they take Tom? Tom Felton belongs to the Harry Potter cast!! I can stand for Tom acting something else, but NOT in a Twilight movie.

I have to say, I love all of the guys they chose for it... But my favoirites would probably have to be Tom Felton and Freddie Highmore... No 1 is Freddie because he portrays himself really well as an American.

I really can't see ANOTHER actor from HP coming into Twilight. Robert was okay because his character died but Tom's character is still alive and it would just ruin the perspective of HP and Twilight.

noooooo, tom can not be alec in twilight!! if he was in the movie he would ruin it!! and if dakota becomes jane they have to get someone who could look like her twin!! they have to find someone else!! and i saw a photo of Lucas Grabeel and he looked exactly like i pictured alec when i was reading the books!! please don't let tom in New Moon.

Huh.....I really can't see Tom as Alec. Not with Dakota Fanning as Jane. It just doesn't work to me.
