According to an article in the Daily Telegraph, Helena Bonham Carter's next role will be a children's author instead of a character from children's literature like her portrayal of "Bellatrix Lestrange" in Order of the Phoenix and Half-Blood Prince; and "Mrs. Bucket" in Tim Burton's production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. She was cast as Enid Blyton who wrote about the Famous Five and Malory Towers for children in Britain. The film about Ms. Blyton's life will be shown on BBC Four later this year.
Click here to read what Ms. Bonham-Carter was quoted to have said about her new project.
"It's a long time since I have read such a well written script with as complex and fascinating a character as Enid. I hope I do her justice. And I hope I get to drink lashings of Ginger Beer."
The article stated that one of Ms. Blyton's daughter, Imogen Smallwood described her mother's approach to life as "childlike" and that "she could also sometimes be almost spiteful like a teenager".
Richard Klein, Controller at BBC Four seems to believe Ms. Bonham-Carter can portray such a complexity since he was quoted to have said this:
"Enid Blyton is loved across the world as one of the greatest children's storytellers. And yet behind this positive image lies a darker and more conflicted story. I know that Helena will employ all her renowned skills as an actress to bring this story to life."
Filming will begin this following week in London and Surrey. Ms. Bonham-Carter's co-stars will be Matthew Macfadyen as "Hugh Pollock", Blyton's publisher and first husband, and Denis Lawson as "Kenneth Darrell Waters", Blyton's second husband and London surgeon.

I am thrilled!I loved her books as a child and still have loads of them, and though an author's personal life and her work are two separate things I would still love to watch this movie.I hope it comes on some other channel too,as BBC 4 is not available in India.
