Dan & Heyman Talk on Deathly Hallows Split & Aging Process

Empire had a chance to speak with Harry Potter producer David Heyman and Dan Radcliffe about where they plan to split the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows movies and how they'll handle the aging process. Read more to see some of what they had to say. **caution for some spoilers if you haven't read the book**

When David Heyman was asked about where they thought they would split the films, he stated that they have all looked at a few places, but then screenwriter Steven Kloves came up with an idea that felt perfect. "We've played around with a couple of places," said Heyman, "and ultimately settled on a place that we think is very exciting, and I think quite bold, in that it's not necessarily where one might expect. You want to give a sense of completion, on one hand, but a sense that there's another piece, more to come. We tried one and then Steve (Kloves, screenwriter) came up with the idea to try it another way and when we tried that, it felt just right."

Dan stated that the split is done "at a very tense cliffhanger."

So how are they going to do the aging process for the young actors at the epilogue to the story? Will they use CGI or lots of make-up?

While Heyman is keen to use Benjamin Button-like technology to age the three main actors to play their older selves, Radcliffe is equally keen to get it right.

"I am nervous about that," he told us, "because if it's good I'll be really, really pleased; if it's not good and that's what people are left with, that would be awful. If it's a choice between having me, Rupert and Emma looking a bit stupid and it being slightly comical or having other actors play us, I would go for other actors every time. So, we'll see."

I can't think where they'll split it - I wish they'd just tell us already! I really hope they do use Dan, Rupert and Emma for the epilogue - it won't seem right having other actors play them.
