Evanna Lynch on Becoming Luna; Begins DH in May

Evanna Lynch, who portrays Luna Lovegood in the Harry Potter films, was interviewed by RTE Radio One's Tubridy Show. During the interview, she talked about the audition process to get the role of Luna, how she couldn't tell anyone for 10 days that she got the role, and that she'll begin filming for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in May. During the audition, she stood in line for about 4 hours. Finally, she entered into a room. They'd take about 200 into a room and line about 30 up and they'd tell you to come forward and say your name and where you come from. And by that they would pick 2 or 3 people out and the rest would be, "Goodbye. Go home." When she got the first call, it was for a 1:1 audition with David Yates and Dan Radcliffe with cameras and everything.

She admits that she feels she is more a fan of Harry Potter than an actor.

When she finally did get the call that she got the part, she was told to tell no one but her family. It was difficult for her to not tell any of her friends. It was ten days after she was told that the rest of the world found out.

When she attended her first premiere, she felt like it wasn't her that was there. I remember, at the premiere, I was sitting and I was watching. Half of me was like, "That's not me." and in that way I was able to watch it comfortably rather than objectively watching it. But at the same time, everyone else looked like they should be up there. And there was me … very normal, I know everything about myself. I'm not a movie star. It was confusing.
