|
Matt Lewis, who portrays Neville Longbottom in the Harry Potter films, recently spoke with fansite Lewis Lovers about an assortment of subjects. In the first part of the interview he talks about how much filming for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows he's done, the actors he's looking forward to filming with, how he feels when parts from the books aren't included in the film, and some fun things that have happened on the set. When asked if he's done anything with Deathly Hallows yet, he said he's filming two days' worth so far. He's most excited to film the final battle.
He was also asked which actor he's looking forward to filming with.
Megan: Which new actors cast in Deathly Hallows are you looking forward to working with? Matt: Hmm, I don't really know of many of the new since I've only worked with Dan, Rupert and Emma so far. Matt: Do you know of some that are new and I'll tell you if I'm looking forward to working with them ;) Megan: I'll take a look haha Megan: Helen Mcrory will be playing Draco's mom Megan: and Domhnall Gleeson will be playing Bill Weasley Matt: Oh yea, Helen McRory for sure because she was supposed to be in OotP but I believe was pregnant so had to cancel Megan: Yea, but I think that Helena was a better Bellatrix and she is more suited for Narcissa Megan: so i guess it turned out for the best Matt: Helena Bonham Carter stepped in and was fantastic but I am looking forward to working with Helen McRory Megan: yea, she seems really nice Matt: Absolutely, you're right Matt: Brendan Gleeson for me is one of the most fantastic people I have ever worked with Matt: He's just such a nice guy and so talented Megan: Yea and he seems pretty funny too Matt: So I'm sure his son will be equally as great
He also said that he doesn't like it when parts of the book are left out, but that there is a lot of content from the Deathly Hallows book, which will make lots of people happy. And considering he has read the script, this is good news!
Megan: Being a fan of the books, are you ever upset when they don't do certain parts from the books; especially Neville scenes? Matt: Yea absolutely, not just with Neville but all the things that are cut out of the film, it's sad to see. unfortunately, when you're making a 2 hour movie of a huge book, it's necessary, and the script writers work incredibly hard to make it 2 hours and still make sense. Matt: It's a shame that the writers have gotten so much stick sometimes, coz they do a really good job. Megan: Yea, I think they do a good job at keeping the most important things Megan: the one part that I didn't like getting cut was the full scene in OotP where Harry see's his father and Sirius when they were younger Matt: Lucky for everyone this time around DH will be 2 movies, so there's going to be loaaads in it for everyone! Megan: yea, I was so glad when they decided to split it. Matt: Yea, that was a shame, I was quite upset about losing the hospital scene with Neville's parents too but I guess that's the way it goes in cinema! Megan: Yea, that was such a good scene, it really made you feel for Neville
