Thanks to Dean for joining us! It was great fun speaking with him!
Please note: I've been in the process of putting my house up for sale which is the reason for the huge delay in doing podcasts lately. Hopefully I'll have time to do more very soon! |

Playscripts, Inc. to publish new stage play Sally Cotter and the Censored Stone
Parody of the Harry Potter books is available for production now
We are pleased to announce the publication of Sally Cotter and the Censored Stone, by Dean O’Carroll.
The play is a parody of the beloved Harry Potter books. The lead character, Sally is a young girl who falls asleep while reading a book about a certain boy wizard. She dreams she is, herself, a sorceress and a student at a school for magic. She meets many characters who might ring a bell with Potter fans, and has a fairly ridiculous adventure. Sally gets through it all with help from her wits, her friends, and her knowledge of the books she was reading before she dozed off. Sally Cotter and the Censored Stone is easy to stage and is intended for production by schools, camps, community groups, and regional and community theatres.
Characters in the play include Sally’s friends Dave and Harmonica; Albatross Underdrawers, headmaster of Frogbull Academy; and the villainous Lord Murderdeath. The play is a silly romp which pokes gentle fun at the works of J.K. Rowling, but is ultimately a loving tribute to the world of Potter and the effect it has had on the real world.
Dean O’Carroll is a playwright and comedian whose plays have been produced in more than 30 states and Canada. He has written for television, newspapers, and stand-up comedians. He is a regular contributor to the popular podcast “Inside the Magic” where he is known as “That Anonymous Guy.”
