Deathly Hallows: Behind The Scenes With Molly of Pembrokeshire
|
Ten year old Molly from Pembrokeshire, Wales did a Press Pack report for the CBBC Newsround, which is a BBC program for kids in the UK. Her report was a behind-the-scenes look at the filming of the Shell Cottage scenes for Deathly Hallows.

Molly was allowed to visit the Unit Base which is the area behind the set where the canteen was and the actors’ trailers and other trucks were parked . She had a cup of tea at the canteen while the crew were having breakfast. Then, she walked around the Unit Base and saw the trailers for Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) and Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley). She also saw a few of the actors going to Make-up. Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood) and Watson waved at her. Molly had the opportunity to speak to Harry Potter producer David Barron and director David Yates. They told her they loved working on the Harry Potter films because “the stories were so good”. She also spoke to the Location Manager who explained her job was to find locations for different parts of the film. The Location Manager also said she had looked all over England to find a beach for Shell Cottage which made Molly proud that Pembrokeshire was chosen.
But the exciting part of the visit for Molly was to see Shell Cottage. She learned that 1600 shells covered the roof. She also learned that the people who raked the sand and used blowers to wipe away footprints were referred to as “set dressers”.
Thank you for the report, Molly! Click here to read the article.
