Tonner Dolls: Lucius Malfoy and Win A Harry Potter Doll
|
In honor of Half-Blood Prince’s film release on July 15, Doll Reader magazine interviewed doll manufacturer Robert Tonner about his Harry Potter collection. He started making the collectible dolls in November 2005. Naturally, Harry was the first one created, followed by Ron and Hermione. This year, Professor Dumbledore and Bellatrix Lestrange are a part of Tonner Doll Company’s 2009 Collection. There are other Harry Potter characters, such as Draco Malfoy, Cho Chang, Luna Lovegood, and even Professor Snape, which already have been released.
Mr. Tonner mentioned in the interview that he and his company are in the process of creating a Lucius Malfoy doll in the likeness of Jason Isaacs, the actor who portrays Draco Malfoy’s father in the Harry Potter films. Also, he has plans to make all of the Weasleys.
When asked which Harry Potter book and film were his favorite, Mr. Tonner was quoted to have replied:
"I’ve read every single book and seen every movie at least once, and I’d have to say my favorite in both cases is 'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.' In both cases I was blown away by the amount of action and intrigue,"... As for the contest to win a Harry Potter doll created by the Tonner Doll Company, Doll Reader and Robert Tonner are giving away a “Harry Potter Prize Package”.
