Matt Lewis on His Future & Neville Becomes a Freedom Fighter

Matt Lewis, who portrays Neville Longbottom in the Harry Potter films, recently spoke with BBC Radio Leeds. In the lengthy interview, he talked about a number of subjects, including how Neville becomes a 'Freedom Fighter', his future, and Deathly Hallows. Read more to see some of what he had to say.

- He saw the latest Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince trailer and really liked it. He talked about how this film is much darker, with the sad ending, and some of the comedy.
- He spoke of Neville's progression and that in Deathly Hallows Neville is like a 'freedom fighter'.
- Matt said he's grateful for the experiences the films have given him.
- He hopes his larger role in Deathly Hallows will help him get some future work. He has some ideas and hopes some friends in Los Angeles will help him.
- He may move to London.
- He enjoyed being a presenter last year for a behind-the-scenes Harry Potter feature.
- He said he'll be sad when the franchise is finished.
- For Deathly Hallows, he won't be wearing the 'fat suit' that he normally does for Neville.
- He got a tattoo on his arm and the make-up team have to had to cover up.
- He's considered stage work but feels he may be too lazy to do it.
- He says his friends and family haven't changed.
- He said it's easier it to see his Harry Potter cast-mates now that they are all older, with some being able to drive.
- He has done some shooting for Deathly Hallows, but said it's confusing as they are jumping between scripts for the both halves.
- He'll be back on set in October.
- He mentioned his recent charity work and music festivals he's due to attend.
- He also spoke of J.K. Rowling on how shy but lovely she is. He went to Edinburgh, Scotland for the launch of Tales of Beedle the Bard.

I love Neville's character. He was great in the last book; I hope he is that awesome in the movie.
