|
NJ.com posted an article from the The Star-Ledger about David Thewlis (Remus Lupin) and his new movie The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas. During the interview, Mr. Thewlis mentions his involvement with the Harry Potter films as "Professor Lupin". He also discusses it in the interview he did on KTLA News.

Isaacs, Thewlis, and Heyman Interviews
|
Harry Potter producer David Heyman, and actors Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy) and David Thewlis (Professor Lupin) were all recently interviewed and all had a bit to say about the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and Deathly Hallows films, including some slight tweaks to the next film, romance between Lupin and Tonks, and Isaacs corrects a misquote about Dan Radcliffe and Equus. Potter Stars Receive Nominations, Recognition from BIFA
|
Three Harry Potter stars have either been nominated for awards or are receiving recognition from the British Independent Film Awards (BIFA).
Ralph Fiennes (Voldemort) has received two nominations for best supporting actor for his performances in The Duchess and In Bruges.
Brendan Gleeson (Mad-Eye Moody) is up for the best actor award for his role in In Bruges.
And, lastly, David Thewlis (Professor Lupin) is to be recognized for his outstanding contribution to British film and will receive an award named after the late Richard Harris (the first Professor Dumbledore).

Update: Thewlis Clears Up Some Potter Misconceptions
|
David Thewlis (Professor Lupin in the Harry Potter films) recently attended a screening for The Boy in Striped Pyjamas film at the Heartland Film Festival in Indianapolis, Indiana. While there, fan site DavidThewlis.net had a chance to speak with him. He asked that some information be passed along.
In several articles, David was misquoted as saying about the Harry Potter films;
"Yeah we're working on the last film, which will be split into two but I'm not really involved in it. I'm not in the last films much. It's a week's work here and there."
What David meant was that he was not in Order of the Phoenix, or The Half-Blood Prince much. He hasn't even been given a script yet for Deathly Hallows, so he doesn't know how many scenes his character will have.

David Thewlis Attends Striped Pyjamas Premiere in Dublin
|
David Thewlis, who portrays Professor Lupin in the Harry Potter films, recently attended the premiere of his latest project, The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, in Dublin. Some photos of him at the premiere can be seen in our gallery (thanks to SS) beginning here.
The film, which will be in theatres on September 12th, is based off the book by John Boyne and is about a boy whose father is a Nazi commandant during World War II. The boy befriends a Jewish boy in Auschwitz.

David Thewlis: The Boy In The Striped Pajamas Trailer
|
Cinematical posted the trailer for The Boy In The Striped Pajamas which stars David Thewlis, known to Harry Potter movie fans as “Professor Lupin”. It is based on the children’s book by Irish novelist John Boyne. Mr. Thewlis portrays a commander general of a concentration camp whose eight year old son befriends a Jewish boy imprisoned in the camp during World War II.
One of the producers of the film is David Heyman who is also a producer of the Harry Potter films. The Boy In The Striped Pajamas will have a limited release on November 7, 2008.

Thewlis Speaks on His New Book and Dumbledore
|
David Thewlis, who portrays Remus Lupin in the Harry Potter films, has recently completed his first book titled The Late Hector Kipling. He was part of the International Festival of Authors and spoke with City News while there. During the interview, he spoke about always wanting to be an author and about J.K. Rowling stating that Dumbledore was gay.
Thewlis concedes that threw him for a loop, but not for the reasons you might think. "The funny thing when Alfonso Cuaron directed "The Prisoner of Azkaban, the first film that I appear in, he had the idea that Lupin was gay and he described my character like a 'gay junkie' .And of course Lupin turns out not to be gay because he marries Tonks and has children." |

David Thewlis Confirms Half-Blood Prince
|
David Thewlis, who portrays Professor Lupin in the Harry Potter films, has confirmed that he will reprise his role in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
His current projects include The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, The Street, and a novel he just completed that will be released in September.
