Oldman's Image Seen On Disney's A Christmas Carol Train Tour
|
Last year, we reported that Gary Oldman (Sirius Black) confirmed he will be in Robert Zemeckis' A Christmas Carol with Jim Carrey. This capture digital 3-D adaptation of the well-known Christmas classic by Charles Dickens will be released by Disney this December.
To promote the film, Disneyland in California created A Christmas Carol Train Tour at its theme park. The train contains portraits of the animated characters which have a very strong resemblance to the actors, like Colin Firth as "Fred Scrooge", who use their voices to portray them . And if you look very closely at Tiny Tim's eyes, it is very easy to imagine what Gary Oldman may have looked like as a boy playing Dickens' beloved character.

UPDATE: Gary Oldman Attached to Iron Man 2?
|
A report has surfaced over at IESB that Gary Oldman, who portrays Sirius Black in the Harry Potter films, has been seen on the set of Iron Man 2.
First, Garry Shandling was added to the cast of IRON MAN 2 alongside Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow and Don Cheadle. Now, Gary Oldman has been spotted on the set in Los Angeles...
We don't have any character confirmation, but we are hearing he could possibly be Howard Stark, father to Tony, previously rumored to be played by Tim Robbins. But that role is also rumored to be the one filled by Mad Men's John Slattery, who I am HUGE fan of.
It must be a short time on set considering he is in the middle of shooting Book of Eli in New Mexico.
We've reached out to the studio for comment but have yet to hear back.
UPDATE: Mike over at JoBlo had the chance to speak with Oldman's agent who informed him that Oldman is NOT in Iron Man 2. |

Happy Birthday, Gary Oldman!
|
Happy birthday to one of Daniel Radcliffe’s favorite actors! I can only imagine how thrilled the boy who was cast as “Harry Potter” was when he learned Mr. Oldman received the role of “Sirius Black” for Prisoner of Azkaban, Goblet of Fire and Order of the Phoenix.
Gary Oldman was born on March 21, 1958 in London, England which makes him 51 today. When he was a child, he played the piano and sang. But after watching Malcolm McDowell in a movie, the idea of acting resonated with him more than music did. The movies Mr. Oldman is known for are Sid and Nancy; Immortal Beloved, Count Dracula, Batman Begins, and of course, The Dark Knight. He is currently working on The Book of Eli with another Harry Potter actor Michael Gambon (Dumbledore) and Denzel Washington.
He recently married Alexandra Edenborough, so his fifth decade looks like it's off to a good start. Click here to go to his official fansite to celebrate.

A Fan Asks Oldman What Did Sirius See Behind The Veil
|
We previously reported a few interviews Gary Oldman had done to promote the release of his second Batman movie, The Dark Knight. In those interviews, Mr. Oldman has mentioned his appearances as “Sirius Black” in the last three Harry Potter films as well as his film project with Jim Carrey in Robert Zemeckis' animated adaptation of A Christmas Carol. So, his interview with the National Post may not have anything Gary Oldman fans already don’t know…except for one thing:
"…He was working on A Christmas Carol when a young Harry Potter fan intercepted him one day after a day of filming. "A little kid came up to me and he said, 'Can you tell me what Sirius saw on the other side of the veil?' " he recalls.
And what did the actor say? Oldman smiles: "I said, 'The Dark Knight and then A Christmas Carol.' "

Slashfilm.com posted a confirmation from Gary Oldman (Sirius Black) that he will be in Robert Zemeckis’ production of A Christmas Carol. This special version of the well-known Christmas classic by Charles Dickens will be a capture digital 3-D adaptation, similar to Zemeckis’ Beowulf.
“I play [the ghost of] Marley, Bob Cratchit, and Tiny Tim,” Oldman told /Film at the Dark Knight junket. “I saw the designs, and the realizations of London and the characters. The design of it, and the look of it, is beautiful. It’s quite stunning. It should be quite magical.”

Gary Oldman elaborates on his head appearance in Goblet
|
Gary Oldman elaborated a bit on his appearance in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire in an article by MTV.
Those who remember Gary Oldman's mischievous Sirius Black as the best part of the last film, however, might be a bit disappointed by the direction in which his character will head this time around. "Well," Oldman smiled, "head is the operative word. I appear in the embers of the fire to warn Harry about Voldemort. I'm in it for 45 seconds. Just a head — that's all they filmed." Smiling at the oddity of his cameo, he added, "I flew the head to London."
Thanks to VTM. |
