Harry Potter Uniforms Now Available To The Public
|
Ever since Chamber of Secrets, Lochaven International, Ltd. in Scotland has provided Warner Bros. with Hogwarts school uniforms for all four houses. In October 2008, the Kilmarnock Standard interviewed the knitwear manufacturing company about their association with the Harry Potter films. At that time, Lochaven’s owner Keith Murray mentioned receiving requests from fans for the uniforms:
He said: “We get e-mails from all over the world from fans of the books and films asking if they can buy one…“Although there is no legal reason why we can’t, we don’t actually actively market them so they are pretty rare…“Our quality and ability to produce relatively small batches in Scotland makes us fairly unique these days and that allows us to work within the film industry…“The garments are very visible in the films and have become recognised as an integral part of Harry Potter. There is also a large Scottish connection with the films so it’s great to be a part of it.”
Due to popular demand reinforced by the interview, the uniforms are now available.

Goblet of Fire, One of the 50 Best High School Movies
|
Entertainment Weekly have posted up an article called: The 50 Best High School Movies. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was placed at number 36. The list is part of The EW 1000, a celebration of the past 25 years in entertainment. Here's what they had to say: No, we haven't lost our minds. One of J.K. Rowling's ingenious ideas was to blend two literary traditions, fantasy and coming-through-school fiction (à la Tom Brown's School Days). That's particularly true in Goblet, which depicts 14-year-old Harry's heightened state of adolescent anxiety, about the big (Quidditch) game, about finding a date for the big dance, and about juggling homework while saving the wizard world from evil Lord Voldemort. See the article here.
