To enter the contest, we want you to compose a poem dedicated to Harry Potter. It can be anything from a limerick to a haiku to a love poem to an elegy to a sonnet. Be creative - the finest poem about the Boy Wizard will win and we'll also publish the best ones on AbeBooks. There is no limitation on length. Completion of Book 6 Revealed Two Years Ago Today
|
The completion of the sixth Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was announced to us exactly two years ago. The Room of Requirement opened on J. K. Rowling's website on December 20, 2005, to reveal a Christmas tree and presents. From there, we had to go through many different steps, answering riddles, and figuring out how to get the gift we all wanted - the news that the sixth book was complete!
Alas, so far, we have not received this gift for the seventh book, though many of us hold out hope.
Jo did, however, give us a recent update, which we are thankful for!
If you did not get the chance to be a part of that fun Christmas puzzler two years ago, then you can see how it went on our J. K. Rowling website update link. |

The Age: HBP Audio Book Review
|
The Age has compiled a review for several audio books to be listened on a road trip and they have an insightful review of the Half-Blood Prince audio book read by Stephen Fry. Here is an excerpt.
It's captivating stuff in Fry's hands and he is terrific in the way he can convey the difference between the nastiness, say, of Draco Malfoy and the truly black evil of some of the death eaters. He's also good at getting the heartiness and bounce of all the school stuff and all the girl/boy stuff which, in this book, tends to hover around Harry's white hot feelings for Ginny Weasley. |
