Richard Griffiths on OOTP and Vernon Dursley Role
|
Richard Griffiths, who portrays Harry Potter's uncle, Vernon Dursley, recently spoke with the New York Post about his role in the Potter films, and his role he currently has on Broadway.
He says of his Dursley role, "You can't go anywhere without being bothered by kids." He then adds, "Vernon is the most unsympathetic character, so the kids expect me to be horrible. And who am I to disoblige them? I mean, I love kids, but I couldn't eat a whole one."
For the current film, he says of the younger actors and future Potter films that they're going to get "darker and increasingly complex, massive acting demands are going to be made on them. Will they have the emotional technique to do it? It's going to be very interesting to find out."
He is currently on Broadway playing the role of Hector, a professor of English literature in Alan Bennett's play from London, "The History Boys." |
