Happy Birthday to Zoe Wanamaker
|
Happy Birthday, Ms. Wanamaker! Zoë Wanamaker (Madam Hooch) is 59 years old today. She was born on May 13, 1949 in New York City. After her father Sam Wanamaker, an actor, director, and producer, was blacklisted in 1952, Ms. Wanamaker’s family moved to England. Becoming a British citizen in 2000 to receive a CBE (Commander of the British Empire) from the Queen, Ms. Wanamaker still retains her American citizenship.
Although she has done quite a few television, theater, and film roles, she is currently known for her role as “Susan Harper” in the British television series My Family. Ms. Wanamaker recently agreed to do an interview for the May 2008 issue of UK’s Woman & Home. Click here to read an edited version of the interview.

Shyamalan Admits Offer to First Potter Film
|
Lady in the Water director, M. Night Shyamalan was recently interviewed by ComingSoon.net, and was asked about having ever been offered the director's seat for any Harry Potter films. Here's what he had to say:
"You know, that Harry Potter dance has gone on a long time," he told us. "The problem is that it is a living breathing thing now, all by itself. When it comes over to my camp, it needs to be kind of handed over, adoption papers and everything. That's a tricky move.
"I haven't met with J.K. [Rowling]," he continued. "The first one was offered to me, but that conflicted with 'Unbreakable,' which was unfortunate. I would definitely, but I think probably before that I would adapt a book. I've gotten close a few times to adapting books."
Thanks to HPANA. |
