Changes In the Harry Potter Stars Roster At FL Supercon
|
When I previously reported that Natalia Tena will join the other Harry Potter stars at the Florida SuperCon, I made the mistake of mentioning James Phelps who plays one of the Weasley twins in the Harry Potter films with his brother, Oliver. According to the Florida Supercon website, James will not appear due to a schedule conflict. He will be working on the crew of the new Harry Potter movie. So, Ms. Tena agreed to come in his place. But Oliver Phelps still plans to attend the convention.
Also, another Harry Potter actor will be there. His name is David Decio. He is known as a 6th form Hogwarts student. He has been a stand-in/double for Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley). He was also a “Young Peter Pettigrew” stand-in/double on Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Click here to see his photo and here to see his photo as "Young Peter Pettigrew" with “Young Lily” and “Young James” in the photo gallery. |

Happy Birthday to Stanislav Ianevski
|
Happy Birthday, Mr. Ianevski! What a coincidence that Stanislav Ianevski celebrates his 23rd birthday in the same month as his Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire co-star, Robert Pattinson (Cedric Diggory) celebrates his own birthday! Mr. Ianevski was fortunate to have the role of “Viktor Krum”, the Bulgarian seeker. Like "Viktor", Mr. Ianevski is also from Bulgaria. He was born in Sofia on May 16, 1985.
Although Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is his only movie so far, Mr. Ianevski currently has an agent and hopes to make more movies in the future. Currently, as previously reported, he plans to attend the Florida Supercon in Weston, FL on Friday, May 23 to Sunday, May 25, 2008.

Tom Felton’s Music Causes Online Buzz
|
PR-Inside posted a release from WENN (World Entertainment News Network) that Tom Felton, known for his role as “Draco Malfoy” in the Harry Potter films, is prompting speculation after posting videos of “secret pop performances” on YouTube. It also states that perhaps he is using his celebrity status to launch a career in the music industry since he is working on an album. We can only hope he will succeed in a music career as well as he continues to do in his acting career.
But since there is no official statement from Mr. Felton, himself, about his music, please consider this unconfirmed. |

Hermione Granger, A (Un) Real Role Model
|
Christianity Today has a list of five fictional female characters who are considered role models because... “In their honest depictions of the complexity of what it means to be flawed and human, these fictional women are as real as it gets.”
Hermione Granger from the Harry Potter series was third on the list: “Through the ups and downs of life as a “muggle” in a wizard’s world, this feisty adolescent exemplifies what it looks like to be courageously loyal. Hermione shows us that loyalty to our friends and loved ones doesn’t mean backing down or going along—it means speaking one’s mind, sticking it out through arguments and misunderstandings, and if needed putting one’s life and limb on the line.”
Another literary character was also on the list, Precious Ramotswe from The #1 Ladies’ Detective Agency books by Alexander McCall Smith, along with Marge Simpson from the US television series, The Simpsons, Brenda Johnson from the US television series The Closer and Juno, from the movie of the same name.

No Moaning Myrtle in Half-Blood Prince
|
It looks like Moaning Myrtle won't be in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Snitch Seeker have spoken with Shirley Henderson's (Moaning Myrtle in the Harry Potter films) representatives at HamiltonHodell, and they have confirmed that she is not in the film.
I'm sorry to report that Moaning Myrtle has not made it into the latest film.
In case you don't recall, in the Half-Blood Prince book, Moaning Myrtle consoled Draco Malfoy in a bathroom in Hogwarts, and Harry Potter walked in on the two and ends up performing the Sectumsempra spell on Draco.
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will be in theatres November 21, 2008. |

Helen McCrory's Five Minute Interview
|
One day when Helen McCrory was still filming Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince in her role as “Narcissa Malfoy”, her driver got lost and The Independent caught up with her for a five-minute interview while she smoked a cigarette, thinking "I'm late for work."
In the five minutes, Ms. McCrory mentions what she would do if she were a politician, a phrase she uses too often, what she wishes "people would take more notice of", the most surprising thing that happened to her, what the most common misperception of her is, what she is very good at, what she is very bad at, what she does in weak moments, what she would have been in another life, the best age to be, and what her philosophy is "in a nutshell".
