It is based on the children’s book by Irish novelist John Boyne. Mr. Thewlis portrays a commander general of a concentration camp whose eight year old son befriends a Jewish boy imprisoned in the camp during World War II.

One of the producers of the film is David Heyman who is also a producer of the Harry Potter films. The Boy In The Striped Pajamas will have a limited release on November 7, 2008.
